I'm going

There are so many details involved with getting ready for Blogher. So many. If I wasn't so darned excited about it, I might be a little overwhelmed. Oh, who am I kidding? I am overwhelmed, but it's the best overwhelmed feeling ever.

Clothes. Since I've been shrinking with the Sisters, I pretty much have nothing that fits. Well, nothing that doesn't involve drawstrings, coffee stains, and holes in the armpits. This week, I've spent lots of time shopping, and for the first time in a long time, I've enjoyed it. I've enjoyed stripping down to my skivvies and trying on countless pairs of pants, dresses, tops, and even bras. Normally, this would make me want to poke both of my eyes out. There are so many choices that are so much fun to make when you actually feel good about your body. I cannot wait to get dressed up in some of my new threads and step out at some of the great parties. Oh, the parties...

Parties. Holy hell. It almost seems like Blogher is a destination for partying. Luckily, I'm not opposed to partying, at all. There are so many choices, People's Parties, Sparklecorn Parties, Cheeseburger Parities (who wouldn't go to this one, really?), room parties, bowling parties, etc. I know I'm not even scratching the surface. All I can say is I'm glad I'm going childless so I can party hop all night without a care in the world.

Swag. Oh the swag. It's going to be everywhere. I've attended SO many conferences, and even organized a few, and the swag from those probably won't hold a candle to the Blogher swag. This is going to be way more than the typical stress squeezey balls, logos pens, and lame-O t-shirts that are always XL, and I've been told to bring an extra suitcase so I can haul it all home, and that it will be totally worth paying the extra bag fee.

Sessions. Yes, this is a conference after all. There are keynotes, breakouts, lunches, dinners, cocktail parities and not many breaks. It seems the days will be packed with wonderful information and speakers. From what I've seen of the agenda, there is definitely something for everyblogger.

Friends. This is the best part of the whole thing. Seeing friends I love and meeting friends I'm sure to love. I cannot wait to connect with some of the wonderful peeps I've met in the blogging world. Hell, if it weren't for blogging, my repertoire of friends wouldn't half of what it is today. It's less than a week away, and already I'm a little melancholy because I know it will be over in the blink of an eye. Memories will be made and the shutter will be clicking out of control, and when I'm on my way back to reality, I'll always remember the amazing time I'm sure to have.
