You Capture - Food

I haven't participated in You Capture in awhile. That makes me sad, but it's because I've so, so busy.

Busy baking cakes for 2 year old little princesses, among other things.

Head on over to Beth's for more food porn. I think I"ll probably gain 10 pounds just looking at them.

A special girl

My Sunshine
She's my brown-eyed Lovey Bluebird. Her hair is golden-brown and so very soft. Her skin is that of her daddy's; more olive than pale, and smooth as butter. She's tiny in every way, from her nose to her toes. My petite princess.
Swinging

She loves oranges, taking baths, our dog Molly, chocolate cake, riding in the jogging stroller while I run, her bubba, milk, brushing her teeth, rocks, clothes, babies, coloring, Daddy, shoes, jumping, sitting in her chair, Elmo, books, singing, and, well, I could go on for days.

She loves everything.
swinging

She loves life. She embraces every new experience with the enthusiasm only she could have.
Climbing

She is saucy, and I think it's wonderful. I'm pretty sure she gets that from me. Thank goodness.

She is determined. At all times.
Determination

Her kisses and hugs are the sweetest. Without a doubt.

Before bed, she begs for just one more book, and she holds me tight as we sing her night-night songs.

She says, "I lub you. So much." My heart melts.

I love her with my entire being.
On the move

Today she is 2.

Happy Birthday to the most amazing gift I could ever ask for. I am so lucky to have her, so proud she is mine, so eager to watch her grow. As long as she slows it down just a little. I might have to pop her if she doesn't.

Because of her, we are complete.

Six

On September 24th (yeah, I know I'm really backlogged on my posting), my son turned 6. SIX. Honestly, it's hard to imagine that he's been here six years already, and at the same hard to imagine that he's ONLY been here for 6 years. He is such an important part of me, and I honestly can't imagine my life without him.

He's quite remarkable. Sweet and caring, such a tender heart. He's inquisitive and all-knowing at the same time. A very old soul. His energy rivals that of the sun, and his eyes are as blue as the ocean. His golden hair draws everyone in, and he hates being called a tow-head.

As much as the first time I ever laid eyes on him, I am in love. I will always be in love with my son, at 6, 16, 26, 36 and beyond.

On the eve of One

***Exactly one year ago I was in the hospital waiting for my girl to enter the world!

Tonight I'm going to bypass part 3 of my Changes in Latitude posts. Instead, I'm going to blog about my little Lovey Bluebird, who will be 1 tomorrow. I'm going to keep it short because I'm working a big project and need to focus, but I wanted to post Lovey's last pictures as an 11 month old. She actually climbed off the couch tonight by herself while I was trying to take her picture. She also said "night-night" when we were hugging and kissing BJ before bedtime. So sweet.
Eyelashes

Oh how she loves books!

Climbing down from the couch! So tomorrow I'll post part 3 and I'll do a special birthday post for Mia. My tiny little bluebird.

Night!

November 4th - A very special day

Today is a very special day. Yes, I know it's election day, but it's also a birthday for 2 special women in my life. My mother and my mother-in-law. It's true, they were born on the exact same day AND in the exact same year. They are the same age. How weird is that?

For me, it's always been very interesting to ponder. My grandmother was in labor with my mom in Dallas, Texas and my husband's grandmother was in labor with his mom in New Jersey, at the exact same time. And then two beautiful babies were born, babies who would grow into beautiful women and give birth to their own amazing children in 1975. Children who would meet 22 years later, in Houston, Texas, and fall in love. What are the chances?

While I don't think that either of them read my blog, I would love to say Happy Birthday to both of them. I hope their days have been wonderful and they have many more to come.

Oh, happy day!

Today felt like my birthday! Actually, it kinda was in a belated way. For my birthday, I asked Brian and my parents and my ILs for money so I could buy my new camera, the Nikon D60! In addition to the bada$$ camera, my friend and business partner Beth sent me a wonderful coffee maker! A Bunn, just like her's! They both arrived TODAY! I felt like a kid tracking Santa on Christmas Eve as I clicked refresh on the UPS website to see the status of my package. When I checked this morning and saw IN TRANSIT, I knew it would be a wonderful day.

When the UPS guy arrived, I burst out the front door and met him in the driveway. He's so happy and friendly and I was so in love with him as he handed me not 1, not 2, but THREE boxes. If the boxes weren't piled so high in my arms, I just might have kissed him.

Without further ado, please meet the newest members of my family: Nikki Nikon (yes, I'm that silly!), and Bunn-E.

The boxes!! Oh, the boxes!

Inside of box #1:

Yummy!!!
Super YUMMY!The first picture of Mia with the new camera. I'm still learning!!!
Look at those eyes! WoW!Uh, yeah, gotta figure out that flash thing....
Can I get a "hell, yeah?" Do you see her tooth!?
Okay, this is after she fell and konked her head on the floor. I was totally neglecting her while I made out with my new camera and drank coffee. But look at those lips! So sweet.
See the purple knot?
Look closely at the deer in my yard. They are about 150 yards away!

So I know what I'll be doing tomorrow when I get done taking BJ to school and working on a few designs. Reading my books so I can figue out how to use my new camera.
